TRAVEL DIARY | PARIS

Paris is always a good idea. Well that’s what we told ourselves after our accommodation in Bordeaux was storm damaged and cancelled last minute. To be honest after 5 weeks of travel with a one year old (the 6 year old is a pro) we also decided a shorter train commute from London would be best for all involved!  So a week in Paris it was! And yes, it was certainly a good idea.

We chose to stay in an apartment over a hotel, Kidandcoe.com is such a great option for families who want to stay in a home rather than a hotel. Much better than an AIR BNB because every home is set up for kids. After 5 weeks travel, the kids were SO happy to be greeted by a playroom and box of toys.

Our 2 br apartment was centrally located, very well priced, not the best for proximity for playgrounds etc, but perfect for sightseeing and shopping. View our apartment HERE.

Now Paris in a heatwave with kids, was a bit of a challenge- especially since they don’t have air con in their apartments, but let’s just say more time and money was spent in basking in the air con at Galleries Lafayette than we intended!

HIGHLIGHTS |

Jardin D’Acclimation was AMAZING! Like a beautiful green more chilled Disneyland. Poppy had her first Carousel ride and I ate my first vegan hot dog.

Archie’s face when we visited the Eiffel Tower at night was priceless. We ate crepes, watched the lights and took a bike taxi back home through the streets of Paris. It was so fun.

Escaping the heat with an ice-cream at Luxembourg Gardens was also a highlight and Archie’s top tip was the fun fair down by the river.

For me, well it hard to be the steak frites and a glass of red while people watching, oh and the Dior slingbacks I self-gifted.;)
