A TAVOLA! | OUR DINING ROOM UPDATE & TRADITION AROUND THE TABLE

Processed with VSCO with s2 preset I grew up in an Italian family where food and family are life... and the dining table is the centre of every occasion. My father is a well known restaurateur, my Nonna & Nonna owned a pasta factory and I am one of 10 children, so you can imagine that even an ordinary meal was an elaborate event!

I remember playing with my brothers and sisters and being interrupted by my Nonna or my Dad shouting "A Tavola!" And we would all rush to sit down to a feast.  Even to this day we all go to mum's (now Nonna's) house for dinner every Sunday. This tradition of food and family  is one I try to keep as I raise my own family. Every Christmas morning we sit down to Panettone and coffee after unwrapping the presents, and meal times at home are a time to switch off and talk about our day.

So when we decided to re-decorate our living space,  we started with the table. We loved our beautiful antique timber table, but it was just too big for the space and cut off the open alfresco feel. The round table feels more intimate but opens the space to flow easily to the back deck. And it also allows room for Poppy's high chair! We chose the Tulip Table in Marble and the Replica Hans Wegner Wishbone Chairs in White and natural from Matt Blatt Furniture.  We just need to add the rug and the dining space is done! Can't wait to share more of our decor reveal!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a beautiful and bright New Year! Please, as always, leave me your comments on what you would like to see covered on NotSoMumsy.com. 2018 is already shaping up to be a big one! Much love,
